Hello all! Twins are 8 days old!

Welcome! I have graduated from the House Poet to a Mama of twins! Brigitte and Richard were born last Tuesday and have changed my life forever! I love them so much and have been learning so many things every day.
My father suggested keeping a blog about raising twins in order to keep my writing going and perhaps offer help to other new twin moms. Twins are definitely different than having only one baby, as we are all figuring out. However, there is something so magical about stepping into our bedroom and seeing two little babies asleep in their cheerful crib. I still can't believe I gave birth to two babies. Andrew, my husband, and I both agree that it was an amazing experience.
There are times when I feel overwhelmed, which is normal. I am still recovering from the delivery, which was vaginal, and I am also adjusting to having two babies to take care of. My needs go last; they need lots of care and attention, especially being newborns and late preemies. They were born at 35 weeks and 5 days, which is great for twins. However, they are still considered late premature babies, and I get so nervous because I just want them to be okay.
My husband is finishing up this semester in another city, and will be coming this weekend! YAY! I can't wait to see him! We are all so proud of him for working so hard; I know it's very difficult for him right now, and my family sends him lots of love and support. We live with my father, who is a wonderful and helpful grandpa! :) With twins, you HAVE to have help. There is no question about it. If I didn't have my father helping me, things would be extremely difficult and I would get quite lonely. When Andrew comes, he will be another pair of hands, so we will be able to rest a little more.
Also, it's the holiday season! Woo! That's always fun~ I'm looking forward to the twins' first Christmas and to my first Christmas as a married woman with my husband~ :) We are going to work hard and enjoy lots of family time.
So, that's what is going on right now, apart from feedings, cleaning, and resting when I can. I will try to post on here as much as I can when I have time, and will discuss certain aspects of raising twins and parenthood. Thanks for stopping by my little blog! :)
